The Blessed Sacrament, the Body and Blood of Christ is the source of all life. We believe that, under the species of bread and wine, Christ is truly present.  At the Last Supper, before he died, Jesus instituted the Eucharist, a memorial of his death and resurrection. It is a sacrament bound to the ultimate love God has for us. “The Eucharist is the sum and summary of our faith: Our way of thinking is attuned to the Eucharist, and the Eucharist in turn confirms our way of thinking.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 1327) In the sacrament of the Eucharist, we receive spiritual food that brings us into an intimate union with Christ, we are forgiven of venial sins, and are preserved from grave sin.

In receiving Holy Communion, we receive God’s grace and we receive the heavenly food that grants us eternal life with Jesus Christ. “O sacred banquet in which Christ is received as food, the memory of his Passion is renewed, the soul is filled with grace, and a pledge of the life to come is given to us.” (an ancient prayer of the Church; Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 1402)

Children in our Parish are required to register for our PREP (Parish Religious Education Program) which is combined with the Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena or  our Parish School (St. John Vianney).
